I sang with a Beatle...

Can I just say that I feel like my life is a little more complete? Grace and I saw Paul McCartney last night... that man is incredible. He rocked so hard and his show was out of this world. I still can't even believe that I was there! He played an awesome set with two incredible encores. His band was out of control too, but not to top Paul of course. He was using the original guitar that he used in the 60s... how rad is that?! OH also, this was his 200th gig with his band. Awesome!

Here are some mediocre pictures of an extraordinary experience:

We got there way earlier than we needed to. We were considering stopping at Ikea on our way for a delicious $1 frozen yogurt. I thought parking would be hairier than it was. We should have stopped, darn it.

The first sighting. THAT IS A BEATLE RIGHT THERE. This was seriously the coolest thing ever. (I know that "cool" doesn't seem like an extreme enough adjective to describe Paul McCartney, but trust that I'm using it in the most extreme way possible. If you've seen him, you'll understand.)

I can't remember if he was singing right here or not, but this shows how lame our section of the crowd was in the beginning. Honestly, up until the last hour of the show, everyone around us was sitting down. What?! This is Paul McCartney, people. A living legend! Grace and I did not sit. We stood. And danced, of course.

Miss Grace and Sir Paul. Our seats were not as terrible as it seems, I swear.

Tribute to George Harrison. I think it was the most beautiful thing he did. Also, George was the best-looking Beatle. Paul is a close second though.

All we are saying is give peace a chance. Ok?

Live and Let Die pyrotechnics... This was a million times cooler than the Stadium of Fire.

We sat next to a guy who was an intense Paul fan (we found out later that his name was, indeed, Paul). He was hilarious/a weirdie/awesome and he wanted us to take a picture with his sign he made. We gladly obliged.

All in all it was the most amazing, incredible, fun, legendary show I've ever been to and likely will ever go to. Paul did not disappoint in the least. I got to sing with a Beatle. I got to cheer for John Lennon with Paul McCartney. I could die now and be a happy girl. (Just kidding, but my life is definitely a little more complete.)

And then Grace and I discovered that I locked my keys in my car and I had to wake my mother up and have her drive up to Sandy to unlock my car.

I thought these were appropriate to throw in the bunch.

Have a beautiful day!

  1. Allie B, you are awesome and so is this post. And so is Paul McCartney. And so are The Beatles! (pretend I just said that last part in an English accent)
